A LEARNING COMMUNITY
FOR BAROQUE AND MODERN FLAUTISTS
with
Elizabeth Walker, Sarah Murphy
and invited special guests

A wonderful way to meet other flautists and develop your flute playing with experienced tutors. Elizabeth and Sarah have created inclusive and educational online courses suitable for amateur adults and teachers wanting a little extra inspiration.

Courses

Four-day (with three-day option) themed online flute courses on Zoom for baroque and modern flautists.

— Each day will start and finish with an hour-long group session
— Daily 45-minute one-to-one private session with the tutors.
— Fourth day concert performance (optional) in a friendly environment with the opportunity for feedback from the tutors and the group.
— Participant numbers are kept small so that everyone receives personalised attention

These friendly courses include flute technique, breathing exercises, work on tonal colours, intonation and articulation, baroque style and ornamentation, sharing of recordings, group discussions, special ‘drop in’ guests and advice on Zoom technology.

All group sessions are recorded and circulated during the day, to allow participants to attend from different time-zones. Any additional material will be emailed before and during the course, including worksheets and guidance for each day.

A sociable and inclusive way to experience a broad range of music and musicians.
All facilitated by enthusiastic, knowledgeable and inspirational tutors.

It has been lovely to link up with other enthusiasts not just from UK but around the world. Modern and baroque flutes are accommodated with repertoire selected for both. The tutors are always welcoming and encouraging wherever you are on your flute journey.

Liz Walker and Sarah Murphy have not only delivered high-quality on-line teaching but drawn together a geographically scattered community of students and teachers mutually supporting each other in development and understanding of all aspects of flute music and flute-playing. One of the few really good things which have emerged from the travel restrictions of the pandemic. Great learning, camaraderie and no travelling costs or expenses!
